Musical Verse Exercises for Children

The verse-exercises presented in the book are built on the principle of simultaneity of music, speech and movement, which is called logo rhythmics. Integrating music into therapeutic work with children with speech problems has a positive effect. Using musical verse-exercises allows the specialist to work on several skills simultaneously. Musical verse-exercises involves performing simple melodies based on rhythmic verses with other people. Various therapeutic goals are woven into the enjoyable process – children have fun, are actively involved in performing exercises. As a result, their motivation and mood increase, which contributes to the chances of the first spontaneous success.

THE BOOK CONSISTS OF 4 PARTS

PART ONE – VERSE-EXERCISES

In the first part you will read the poems and with the help of the corresponding characters you will learn which skills the mentioned musical verse-exercise helps to practice.

PART TWO – MUSIC SHEET

In the second part you will find the relevant music sheet of the musical verse-exercise.

PART THREE – INSTRUCTIONS

The third part contains instructions for performing the verse-exercise, which explains how to perform this or that activity with children.

PART FOUR – VIDEO MATERIALS

In the fourth part you will find a disc on which the musical verse-exercises presented in the book are shown in practice. The author of the poems in the videos, Ms. Nino Gabashvili, explains the importance of the musical verse-exercise and the issues to be considered during the performance. The second part of the video shows the poem-exercises performed by the author of the music, Tamar Zhordania. In the video you will see how the activities look in practice.
