FM systems

FM – systems and stationary sound enhancement equipment

Conversation in natural conditions often occurs at different distances, noisy backgrounds (talking people around the street, street noise, noise, wind, steps and many other things), with the rehabilitation of buildings. All this factor is even worse than the perception of a person with normal hearing. However, patients with hearing loss, including patients with a bowel device and a cochlear implant, this impact is much more important. In such conditions, even those patients who are well aware of the use of alcohol and a cogular implant are only able to understand audio-visuals.

Especially strongly understood is the perception of the children in such conditions. If an adult can not hear words or proposals, it can be guessed by the endless part of the information stored in his memory. The child can not do it if this word is not in his memory. The smaller the baby is, the higher the hearing is less and the less experience of hearing, the less it is in the memory of the words that are necessary for the recognition of words according to their separate parts. Therefore, in order to understand the word, the child should understand it very well.

FM – systems

In terms of noise and distance, children with hearing aids and cochlear implant have been used to solve the problems of speech perception in more recent years, more frequently using FM – systems (FREQUENCY MODULATION). Previously such screws were called a “teacher-pupil” system.

The system consists of two parts:

FM – transmitter. Contains a small radio signature (pocket-sized sizes)
FM – receiver. Contains FM-signals receiver.
Radiologic speech will be delivered as a radio signal by a radio station or a radiologist attached to a cochlear implant. Thus, the speaker’s voice will be directly transferred to the apparatus without the environmental sound.

There are two main types of FM-systems – individual and group consumption. Group FM systems are used in schools, kindergartens (radio clubs).

FM-systems are especially important for school / garden children.
